East Africa Emergency

Two of the most important things we need to survive and thrive are food and water. Without them we can deteriorate rapidly and if left without both or either for long periods of time, it can ultimately lead to death.

In East Africa, the food crisis has a hold and the pain and suffering is way beyond anything anyone should experience in their lifetime.

In areas such as East Africa, people rely on the weather to help their crops and livestock grow and thrive. However, there has been very little or no rainfall at all in some areas and now the problem is rapidly getting worse. The people of East Africa rely heavily on crops and livestock to feed themselves, their family and survive. This is a poor area and so, families do not have the financial means to purchase food on a regular basis. This is leaving them in a harsh situation that has shown no sign of improving any time soon.

The lack of rain has resulted in crops withering away and dying while livestock are unable to drink while the land that they feed off is barren and dry. It is a vicious cycle that is impacting everyone.

People are Starving

There is no reason why a lack of rain should result in people losing access to the food and water that they have a right to. Men, women and children are starving and they need help quickly. In fact, the World Food Programme has recognised just how dire the situation really is. They have stated that the drought crisis in the Horn of Africa is not categorises as a level 2 emergency as almost 3 million people in Somalia are being classed as in crisis or an emergency where they are either a level 3 or a level 4. This means that they require humanitarian assistance and that is where Global Aid and your donations can make a difference.

We take food and water for granted but when it is cruelly ripped away from you, you then realise that it is an importance necessity. At Global Aid, we are using your donations to supply and distribute the food and water that thousands of people need.

Giving people the food and water that they need can help them to remain not only healthy but alive. These are people are who in need of your help and simple meal and water can really make the world of difference. Even the smallest donations can amount to a significant amount when it comes together but it costs very little to feed and water a family at their time of need.

This is a time where we need to continue our support by providing them with the food and water that they so desperately need. With your help, we can really make a difference to the lives of those who been impacted by a drought that has given no indication as to when it is going to end.
