Ramadan 2022
We are nearing the end of Ramadan 2022. We have the odd nights in front of us which are the most important of nights. Among them, Laylatul Qadr is better than thousand nights.
Allah (SWT) says in the Qur’an (97.3), “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months”.
Dear Brothers and Sisters, Global Aid Trust has been facilitating opportunities for you to maximise you deeds and achieve great rewards for over a decade. This year, we bring forth the Ramadan appeal on Friday 22nd April 2022 on Channel S (Sky 777) with following projects where you can donate and maximise your reward from Allah (SWT) on this blessed odd night.

Eid Gift
Eid is upon us and it is a time of joy and celebration for Muslims all over the world. It is when we thank Allah (SWT) and come together to celebrate with our keens, neighbours and loved ones. For children in particular, receiving gifts makes these days extra special.
Sadly, not everyone can give their children anything special this Eid because they are simply struggling to survive. Especially those living in south Asia do not have what we have in the West. With one in eight people going to bed hungry around the world, your gift could mean everything to a child on the morning of Eid.
The Messenger ﷺ of Allah (SWT) said, ‘The most beloved deed in the sight of Allah after the compulsory acts is bringing happiness to a Muslim.’ (Tabarani)
Through Global Aid Trust’s Eid Gift project, you can be the reason for bringing joy to a deprived child on the day of Eid. An Eid Gift costs just £20 and can show a child in need that there are people in this ummah who love them for the sake of Allah. Your donation will help provide clothing, food, sweets and toys to children and make this Eid extra special for them insha Allah.
Children Sponsorship Project
Hafiz
There is no doubt that education is crucial to children's development. It enables them to develop new skills and interests that will stay with them throughout their lives and set them up for future.
However, poverty in Bangladesh has influenced and continues to influence children's access education negatively.
In Bangladesh, there are around 57 million children under the age of 18 with 15 million of those being under the age of 5 years of age. Studies have found that around 5.6 million children are not in school in Bangladesh.
The Messenger ﷺ of Allah (SWT) said, ‘The best amongst you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it.‘ (Bukhari)
Donating through Global Aid Trust's Hifz Project can help make the difference for children's education across Bangladesh. Donors can donate as little as £16 a month for three years and four months to help support future Hafiz. This will help them start their journey to education, get the education they deserve, making it possible for them to grow, gain knowledge and learn skill and guide our future generation.
Orphan
Here are some statistics for us to ponder upon:
- An estimated 153 million children worldwide are orphans (UNICEF).
- Worldwide, there are 168 million child laborers, accounting for almost 11% of children (ILO).
- In the world's poorest countries, around 1 in 4 children are engaged in child labour (UNICEF).
In a society where poverty plagues us, orphans are extremely vulnerable and very susceptible to negligence and abuse. They are forced to engage in child labour keeping away from education and toil hard to support themselves as well as their family.
Your sponsorship gives them a chance to escape from poor living conditions by providing them with appropriate shelter, education and support. Hence, they can build a better life full of potential and can contribute to nation building. This is our utmost responsibility as a Muslim Ummah to take care of our children in need.
The Messenger ﷺ of Allah (SWT) said, ‘The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this’, and he ﷺ held his two fingers together to illustrate. (Bukhari)
You can support an orphan for as little as £20 a month through Global Aid Trust's Orphan Project.
Gift of Sight
Bangladesh is a developing country, 90% of the population lives in rural areas with little to no medical facilities. Almost 3 quarter of a million people are blind out of 164.7 million population. 85 per cent of them have become blind due to cataract (Ahmed, 2018); many of those could have been cured with one simple operation to remove their cataracts. Only £60 can cure a blind person.
Global Aid Trust has been running Eye Cataract Campaign every year since its launch in 2009 and curing blindness under its Gift of Sight project. We are very privileged to have our current chairman who is an eye specialist here in the UK. He goes to Bangladesh every year with another eye surgeon from the UK to perform UK standard eye cataract operations for the poor people of Bangladesh.
We also arrange rural eye camps and treat thousands of people and supply appropriate glasses accordingly. This is a grandiose project which needs your generous supports.
If the key person of a family is blind, then the whole family suffers. The world is so beautifully created by Allah SWT but sadly a blind person can’t enjoy! Your help can bring a beautiful smile to those in need.
The Messenger ﷺ of Allah (SWT) said, ‘Whoever removes a worldly hardship from a believer, Allah will remove one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection from him.‘ (Bukhari)
Please donate as much as you can. Your little gift will be a huge gift for them.
Masjid Building Project
A masjid is at the centre of any local Muslim community which not only provides a place for prayer but also is a hub for education and other services. It helps people learn more about Islam and plays key role in their moral and spiritual development. However, many of our brothers and sisters across the developing world are not fortunate enough to have easy access to a local Masjid.
The Messenger ﷺ of Allah (SWT) said, ‘Whoever constructs a masjid for Allah, Allah will construct a house for him in Paradise.’ (Bukhari)
Just as the Prophet (ﷺ) helped to build the first mosque in Medina, help us build a mosque in this world and build your palace in Jannah this Ramadan insha Allah.
By building a masjid you will not only earn the reward of providing a community with a house of Allah, but your Sadaqah Jariyah will continue giving benefit for generations to come insha Allah.
